Daca tot se intoarce Entourage aka Sex and the city with penises duminica asta, m-am gandit sa fac un top al momentelor celor mai memorabile care-l includ pe personajul cel mai memorabil al serialului, Ari. Cum ar spune Laur, Ari is awesome. Dar asta nu inseamna ca este singurul motiv sa te uiti la serial. Si avand in vedere ca e destul de greu sa alegi cele mai bune citate/momente pentru un personaj care scoate onelinere pe gurita la fel cum altii respira, sper ca veti aprecia efortul meu. Nu este o lista perfecta si de aceea furnizez si explicatii pentru fiecare scena aleasa.

Si nu va sfiiti sa propuneti propriile momente/scene/citate preferate cu domnul Ari Gold!

10. Ari si Vince being emo


Ce descriere perfecta a acestei scene! Manly emo! In sezonul 5 lui Ari i se ofera posibilitatea de a deveni presedinte la studio-ul Warner. Daca la inceputul serialului Ari nu parea sa fie interesat de altceva decat de semne de dolar, iata ca pus fata in fata cu situatia de a deveni un corporate scumbag, Ari ia o decizie cu totul neasteptata, in urma unui schimb de replici scurt cu Vince.

9. Ari Gold are o criza de identitate


Dupa ce Vince il concediaza pe Ari, acesta din urma isi pierde modjo-ul caracteristic si implicit propria dorinta de a da afara oameni. In urma unei discutii cu psihologul Ari isi da seama ca nu poate sa se poarte ca o victima pentru restul vietii. Mai mult, nu poate sa lase ce s-a intamplat cu Vince sa-l transforme intr-o fiinta umana decenta. Prin urmare concediaza repejor pe cineva si cred ca are o erectie doing it.

8. Ari il sfatuieste pe Turtle


I just love this scene! Ari nu a prea interactionat cu Turtle pe parcursul serialului, dar atat tolomacul nostru preferat cat si Johnny Drama au avut niste momente foarte bune cu Ari in sezonul 6. Scena asta o prefer scenei cu Johnny Drama pentru ca aici Ari are ocazia sa spuna mai multe, si sa-i ofere un discurs cu adevarat motivant lui Turtle. Dorinta acestuia de a face ceva cu viata sa a survenit in urma relatiei cu Jamie, dar uneltele de inceput au fost furnizate de Ari.

7. Ari si sotia la psihiatru


De fiecare data cand ajunge Ari la psihiatru cu sotioara, tre sa fie comedie de aur.

6. Ari goes Terminator


Do i really need to explain this!? Deci nu numai ca vreau sa ajung sa concediez si eu oameni la fel, personal as fi ONORATA sa lucrez intr-o firma unde oamenii sunt concediati cu pusti paintball.

5. Ari vs Josh Weinfuck


Sincera sa fiu, nu il percep pe Ari ca fiind un agent foarte bun. La fel cum nici Eric nu e un manager foarte bun. Insa daca Ari se pricepe la ceva, este sa distruga verbal o alta fiinta umana. Iar acesta este un exemplu timpuriu, din sezonul 1 chiar. Cred ca e cel mai bun monolog al lui Ari din primul sezon.

4. Ari concediat de Vince


Man, this was some sad shit. Si ce este si mai trist este ca intelegi exact de ce s-a intamplat, si nu-l invinuiesc deloc pe Vince pentru decizia luata (desi Eric nu trebuia sa fie asa de ingamfat cand a dat vestea :p ). Si daca chiar si atunci cand decizia este rezonabila, tot simti mila in suflet pentru Ari, inseamna ca Jeremy Piven a mai furat o scena.

3. Ari concediat de catre Terrence


Ari ar trebui sa fie dat afara mai des, atata lucru e clar. Imi place scena asta pentru ca Ari de obicei este panicat, dar aici este cu ADEVARAT panicat. Si bineinteles, Lloyd este pe urmele lui. Loyal little queen.

Asta e scena mea preferata cu Ari pentru ca intotdeana e surprinzator cand cineva ajunge sa se bata in serialul asta, dar in nici un caz nu ma asteptam de la Ari sa get physical. Dar asta se intampla cand te iei de familia omului. Singurul lucru la care Ari tine mai mult decat la slujba este la sotia si copiii sai. Si-mi place la nebunie faptul ca ar fi sters pe jos cu dobitocul ala, mai tanar si mai inalt decat el, manat doar de furie pura. Greatest bitchslap in the history of television! Si-mi mai place si cum Ari intra in fosta lui agentie fara nici o problema si nimeni nu se gandeste sa-l opreasca sa-l intrebe ce face pe acolo. Nici macar paznicii. Probably too scared of him.

So talking about Flash Forward ending I compared it to a nasty break up if it would ever get canceled. I liked the idea of thinking about my relationships with my favourite shows (or least favourite) in terms of relationships with actual boyfriends so I went with it. And if you think I’m the only girl in the world who loves a TV show more than her current or ex boyfriend… think again Right girls? Right!?

Cu oarece intarziere I jumped on the Flash Forward band wagon sa vad despre ce este vorba in propozitie. Mai am de vizionat trei episoade din prima serie de 10 (serialul se intoarce din pauza pe 18 martie) dar mi-am facut deja in mare o parere despre el. Sincera sa fiu, I like it, dar nu este un serial perfect. Iata 5 lucruri care-mi plac si cinci lucruri care nu-mi plac la Flash Forward.

Bile albe

1. Premiza de baza evident ma atrage, mai ales ca time travel a fost dintotdeauna una dintre premizele SF preferate pentru mine. Imi place de asemenea faptul ca serialul nu se bazeaza neaparat pe a big idea ci pe toata micile detalii care se rasfira prin episoade. De exemplu intr-un episod se arata ca acei oameni care nu au avut un flash forward si prin urmare sunt siguri ca o sa paraseasca in curand plaiul obstesc, au infiintat o societate secreta unde sa-si indeplineasca cele mai nebunesti dorinti like jocuri sexuale sado-maso si multa mancare fast food. Mi-a placut intorsura respectiva si alte detalii asemanatoare care arata cat de fundamental s-ar schimba lumea in urma unui asemenea eveniment.
2. Imi place de asemenea varietatea flash forwardurilor si modul in care acestea interactioneaza cu prezentul. Amintirile din viitor variaza de la evenimente dramatice, la banalitati la chestii de-a dreptul ridicole. Evident all the good ones sunt luate de personajele principale.
3. Actori britanici. Nuff said.
4. Structura povestii mi se pare foarte bine pusa la punct. Este un serial cu un end date, pe masura ce ne apropiem de 29 aprilie lucrurile vor deveni din ce in ce mai interesante. Si de ce am senzatia eu ca pe 29 aprilie iar va avea loc un blackout ca sa mai avem materiale pentru vreo cateva sezoane?
5. Un argument legat de argumentul trei dar totusi, destul de badass ca sa fie de sine statator. Dominic Monaghan. ATAT!

Bile negre
1. Are de-a face cu time travel. Pregatiti pastilele de cap. Its gonna get ugly. Unul dintre lucrurile cele mai enervante la Flash Forward si un truc pe care cred ca l-au invatat de la Lost este ca niciodata nu explica ceva de fapt. Cand te gandesti totul la asta, doar pentru ca Mark Benford avea totul pe o plansa in biroul lui nu inseamna neaparat ca erau si indiciile bune sau ca era mai aproape de adevar. Nu inseamna decat ca peste 6 luni nu facea altceva decat sa se ia dupa el insusi. Dar poate motivul pentru care se apucase din nou de baut era tocmai pentru ca ancheta nu ii aduce nici un raspuns. Prin urmare indicat ar fi fost sa inceapa o cu totul alta ancheta, fara sa se ghideze dupa indiciile primare. Unde-s pastilele alea…
2. Nu prea avusesem de-a face cu fenomenul de over acting la viata mea… pana sa dau peste Joseph Fiennes in serialul asta. Deci this dude este asa de exagerat in scenele dramatice incat ma face sa rad. Unde mai pui ca este tot timpul asa de deprimat si sobru, ai zice ca da auditie pentru un rol in Twilight. Ce-i drept, nu ma calca pe nervi chiar tot timpul dar este foarte trist cand vad ca are tendinta to over act si colegii lui de scena doar nu se pot lasa mai prejos. Prin urmare actori care in alte scene se descurca perfect onorabil (vezi Courtney B. Vance si John Cho) cand joaca cu Fiennes se transforma dintr-o data in telenovele ambulante.
3. Unele momente sunt extrem de cheesy. Multe dintre ele au legatura cu Joseph Fiennes si tendintele lui mentionate mai devreme. Cand nu e vorba de Fiennes probabil este de vina.
4. Coloana sonora. I just really don’t get coloana sonora din Flash Forward. Oare au imprumutat directorul muzical de la Grey’s Anatomy?
5. This can only end in tears. Ce vreau sa spun despre asta. Vorbeam cu Ana ca daca serialele ar fi baieti, atunci relatia cu Flash Forward se va termina foarte urat daca serialul va fi anulat. Adica nu va fi genul acesta de breakup: “Ma rog, a fost fun, ramanem prieteni nu?”. Va fi o despartire demna de Tradati in dragoste, gen: “Nenorocitule! M-ai lasat gravida si acum ma inseli cu un TIP! You bastard!” Pentru ca FF este genul de serial in care investesti foarte mult timp si emotii in speranta ca o sa afli vreodata what the fuck is going on. Si daca nu afli pana cand se va termina, vei suferi. Amarnic. Si probabil ca asta este cea mai mare piedica pentru mine to really like the show. Ceea ce este oarecum ironic.

Chiar daca povestea nu este nemaipomenita, 9 mi-a placut pentru atmosfera creata. Pur si simplu m-am indragostit de universul asta bizar, post-apocaliptic, si de toate creaturile bio-mecanice care-l populeaza. Din punctul asta de vedere, 9 a avut succes acolo unde Avatar a dat gres pentru mine.

Bandslam
Initial locul asta era alocat lui 17 Again, dar stiti ceva? FUCK ZAC EFRON! Fuck him and his gorgeus blue eyes. Fuck him in his pretty worked out tight little asshole. (ouch) Asta e pentru freaks, geeks, emo’i, pentru neadaptati, pentru copiii care asculta indie rock si se crucesc cand vad ca MTV da numai reality show-uri de rahat in loc de muzica. Pentru fanii The Killers si pentru legiunile lui Ziggy Stardust. Pentru copiii emo al carui animal preferat este lama. Yeah, this one’s for you.

In the loop
Dupa cum bine zicea prietena mea Ana… “n-o sa auzi nicaieri injuraturi mai creative decat in filmul asta”. Si asta e destul ca sa merite un loc in topul meu.

Wonder Woman
Full review
Dintre toate filmele cu supereroi scoase pe dvd anul acesta de catre DC Entertainment (au mai fost Green Lantern First Flight si Superman Batman Public Enemies), Wonder Woman a fost preferatul meu. Cred ca a avut cea mai buna poveste, cel mai scenariu si in acelasi timp cele mai bune scene de actiune. A reusit sa fie fidel originii personajului din benzile desenate si in acelasi timp sa prezinte amazoanele drept the badass chicks care sunt ele.

The men who stare at goats
De departe cea mai amuzanta faza a filmului a fost sa-l pui pe Ewan McGregor sa invete de la George Clooney ce inseamna “jedi” si ce fac ei. Foarte meta. Dar in afara de asta, este amuzant sa-ti imaginezi cat din povestea filmului a avut loc in realitate si care parti sunt fantezii totale.

The Hangover
The Hangover a reusit sa fie o comedie pentru ambele sexe si asta m-a impresionat cel mai mult. E o comedie despre sex si relatii, dar fara sa fie prea siropoasa pentru fete, sau prea dezgustatoare pentru baietii. Toate personajele sunt bine conturate si haioase in felul lor. Zach Galifanakis e the weirdo, Bradley Cooper este tipul cool care tot timpul stie ce sa faca, Ed Helms este the control freak. Deci ai toate personajele astea care sunt inerent amuzante, si apoi mai ai un scenariu brici care-i pune in tot felul de situatii care de care mai bizare, si in acelasi timp evolueaza catre un anumit punct, astfel incat niciodata nu pare dezorganizat sau pointless.

Cloudy with a chance of meatballs
Unul dintre putinele filme de animatie ale anului care m-a facut sa rad cu gura pana la urechi. Un gen de umor foarte silly si dulce, care indiferent de varsta, isi atinge obiectivul sa te puna intr-o buna dispozitie. Isi imbratiseaza natura de film de copii cu un abandon total.

Zombieland
Zombieland este varianta americana a lui Shaun of the Dead, dar stii ceva, chiar nu ma deranjeaza. Pentru ca este nevoie de mai multe filme CA Shaun of Dead. Filme in care toate cliseele si stereotipurile arhicunoscute sunt intoarse pe dos pentru a obtine situatii cat mai amuzante. Cu exceptia fetelor din film, toate personajele mi-au placut foarte mult, bineinteles Woody Harrelson steals the show.

Fanboys
Sunt alte filme mai amuzante in lista asta, dar Fanboys este un film facut special pentru mine. Asta este sentimentul pe care eu si probabil milioane de alti oameni care au crescut cu Star Wars l-au simtit in timpul vizionarii. Chiar daca glumele referitoare la razboiul dintre Star Wars fans si Trekkies s-au mai facut, nu poti nega ca filmul asta este rezultatul pasiunii foarte sincere a unor oameni. Da, m-a distrat, dar in acelasi timp m-a facut sa ma simt mai putin ciudata. Undeva exista niste oameni care au cheltuit milioane de oameni pe o poveste pe care EU as fi dat bani ca sa o vad pe marile ecrane.

The Goddamn Voice Overs
They say that first impressions are important. Well in this case it doesn’t much matter because Grey’s manages to botch the first impressions AND the last impressions with those annoying, repetitive, pseudo-intelectual voice overs that pass for deep insightful thoughts these days. My problem with the voice overs is that nothing is really being said. Voice overs are supposed to let us inside a characters head right,let you in on things that can’t be expressed through dialogue (one might say because of the writer’s lack of ability) but in Grey’s they are delivering stuff that is pretty much obvious, saying the same thing over and over again, and presenting normal thoughts and feelings like being somehow SPECIAL just because the human beings in question are surgeons. Case in point:

“No-one likes to lose control…”
No duh!

“but as a surgeon there’s nothing worse.”
Do tell.

“It’s a sign of weakness, of not being up to the task.”
Sounds like the case for oh I don’t know… every profession ever.

“And still there are times when it just gets away from you.”
Where did it go?

“When the world stops spinning…”
Oh shit…

“and you realize that your shiny little scalpel isn’t gonna save you.”
When does it ever?

“No matter how hard you fight it, you fall.”
What the fuck does that have to do with control? It sounds more to me like you’re bitching that you don’t know shit.

“And it’s scary as hell.”
If you think it’s scary for you, think of the pacient.

“Except there’s an upside to freefalling.”
The pacient dies and goes to heaven to play Guitar Hero with Elvis?

“It’s the chance you give your friends to catch you.”
So the fact that you fuck up is good because your friends will look better than you? WHAT ABOUT THE FUCKING PACIENT!??!?

The emotional baggage
Look, I have a job, like everybody else. And sure, there are days when I’m bothered by something and maybe I spend a tad to much time at the water cooler talking about my emotional problems with my co-workers but you know what. I don’t do that shit… every single fucking day. I don’t let my personal crap monopolize my attention every day. Now I understand it’s hard for these interns to focus on actually learning something when the object of their affection is standing 1 metre next to them but that’s what you get when you screw each other (in the workplace) over and over like some big family of inbreds that can’t get a break on eHarmony.
Case in point
The first episode Lexie is introduced. Big car accident. Patients flooding the ER room. babies are crying. Models are throwing up in the bathroom. It’s pandemonium and Meredith is trying to get a handle on the situation. Lexie comes in and picks THAT EXACT MOMENT, to tell Meredith that she’s the sister daddy wanted. Bitch, people are like dying here, could you not add your own emotional issues to the drama already unfolding?

The sex
Now I don’t mind the sex in the hospital, but they are certainly taking it to extremes, aren’t they? These interns are either over-sexed or under-sexed and complain about it daily. They go from no sex, to too much sex, to sex with ghosts/crazy people. Some of them even turn bi-sexual so they can have DOUBLE the sex.

The so called professionalism
Miranda Bailey and The Chief. God I hate these characters. Because they are supposed to represent the true figures of authority, the ones to be respected and listened to. But I just can’t stand how unprofessional these professionals act some times. Ok, we have interns, right? The bitches, the dorks, the jerks. They’re young. I’m gonna give them a pass for being arrogant with nothing to show for it. They don’t know any better. But Miranda and the Chief?

Case in point
The Chief constantly gives Meredith a get out of jail free card for doing some outlandish shit. He resents Miranda for trying to be a pediatric surgeon, gives her shit about it. He forgives the new interns after they cut themselves and nearly cause the death of that blonde intern that disappered when she was no longer interesting. Somebody should’ve went to jail for that one.

And then we have Miranda, giving Callie shit for being made chief resident and going around saying it ain’t my problem in the season 4 premiere when Callie was clrealy asking for help. It’s not your problem that people are hurting and need your help? What kind of doctor are ya!? But the scene that pissed me off the most was the one where she goes in the surgery room begging Derek to let the death row pacient DIE so that she could have a heart for a kid she’d grown attached to. How is this woman still working there after trying to sabotage another surgery and in such a deliberat, outhere, self-destructive fashion. If you really need a heart that bad, why not find some other more subtle way to do it instead of outing yourself as a psycho?

The pettyness

However, what really boggles the mind is how this show got so famous… with characters that are so utterly unlikeable. These residents are petty, they are mean, they are arrogant. They steal surgeries from each other. They constantly break the rules and get excused for it which I’d assume for any other normal person gives them a higher sense of self worth (as if they needed it). They complain for 3 seasons that nobody actually teaches them anything and whatever surgeries they get into they have to fight for and then when they get their own interns… They act THE EXACT SAME WAY. Call me crazy but I think a doctor should first and foremost be recognized through their competence, not their personal issues or character quirks. Take Christina for example.

She’s married to cardio. She wants it, she wants it so bad. But the problem isn’t how badly she wants it. The problem for me is that I don’t care if she gets it. Cause she’s such a bitch half the time she doesn’t even deserve it.

So that’s that. I understand it’s a soap opera. I understand it’s nowhere near an accurate representation of an actual hospital. But that’s not the point. The point for me is that I am unable to connect emotionally with any of these character beyond a simple: “Ah, poor Meredith”. I like good people. I don’t see any good people on this show. There is not one character I’d like to go out with to get a beer. Except maybe McSteamy. But his beer would be drugged. So I could then drag his unconcious body to my house.

Adult situations would ensue.

Mentionez din nou ca asta este doar topul meu personal. Nu ma uit la multe seriale care fara indoiala au scene la fel de daca nu mai amuzante care implica si muzica. De asemenea, mai sunt multe scene din seriale la care ma uit pe care sigur le uit deoarece am pus in topul asta acele momente care mi-au tresarit in memorie primele. Hope you enjoy si sper ca daca mai aveti momente asemanatoare, sa le impartiti si cu noi.

Ori de cate ori Olive canta in Pushing Daises, era un eveniment. Momentul asta ar fi mai degraba romantic daca Ned nu-si baga nasul mare de fiecare data. Pe de alta parte, expresia lui Olive cand era intrerupta este absolut pretioasa. “Huh?”

Justice League Unlimited – Batman canta Am I Blue

You’ve seen it here folks. Prima, ultima si memorabila data cand Batman canta. Si bineinteles ca orice altceva ce se apuca sa faca Batman, se dovedeste a fi un cantaret foarte bun. Vocea sa (chiar actorul canta, acelasi tip care i-a furnizat vocea lui Batman in desenele din anii ‘90, Batman Beyond si tot JLA-ul)  il transforma intr-o veritabila privighetoare, iar pe femeile din jurul lui in balti tremurande de estrogen.

Scrubs – Everything comes down to poo

Asa cum am zis, nu am vrut sa fac un top al celor mai bune momente, dar asta trebuie sa fie unul dintre cele mai amuzante momente muzicale din cate am vazut eu in anii recenti. Toate cantecele din episodul musical al Scrubs au fost bune, dar asta e the winner pentru mine (desi ce-i drept, Guy love nu este tocmai un loc secund distant). Mentiune onorabila pentru cvartetul lui Ted.

Last but not least, cu tot regretul si parerea de rau… Andy Hallet (Lorne din Angel) s-a stins din viata in urma cu putin timp. Avea doar 34 de ani. Interpreta un personaj minunat in Angel, demonul empat Lorne, pe care fanii l-au indragit din prima. Era genul de actor in stare sa le faca pe toate, stand-up comedy, cantat, dansat si repaus cateva ore in scaunul de machiaj ca sa fie pictat in verde. In memoria lui, I will survive.

Este vreo femeie pe lumea asta caruia sa nu-i placa de Robert Downey Jr in clipul asta? Also, mentiune speciala pentru James Marsden. M-am luptat o vreme cu ideea de a-l pune pe James Marsden in locul lui RDJ, dar totusi. Marsden nu l-a avut pe Sting ca back-up singer.

7. Hold your hand – American Dreams

Nu stiu cati oameni pe aici cunosc serialul American Dreams dar l-au dat pe ProTV intr-o vreme si este un serial in care muzica era foarte importanta. Actiunea are loc in America anilor ‘60, Meg Pryor e unul dintre personajele principale (the blonde girl) care danseaza la o emisiune muzicala importanta de pe atunci (TRL-ul vremii). Anyway, in fiecare episod aveai niste invitati muzicali si vedetele vremii (Nancy Sinatra. Tina Turner, Shangri-Las) erau interpretati de cantareti contemporani (Jennifer Love Hewitt, Fefe Dobson, Hillary Duff). Momentul meu preferat insa nu are nici o legatura cu treaba asta, ci cu faptul ca iti arata niste copii care se distrau super bine. Plus, it’s the f$^%ing Beatles!

6. One more day – Smallville

Am vrut sa fie finalul episodului Shattered din sezonul 3 aici cand Lex e la spitalul de nebuni si Lionel il viziteaza in timp ce ascultam Hurt de Johnny Cash dar nu am gasit clipul respectiv online. Asa ca ramanem cu One More Day de la Vast de la finalul Veritas din sezonul 7, care pana in ziua de azi continui sa sustin ca a fost cel mai bun episod din acel sezon uber-crappy.

Rar avem momente in care un singur cantec este atat de important pentru evolutia povestii unui serial.

Stargate se termina. Nuff’ said.

3. Where do we go from here – Buffy, the vampire slayer

Nu stiu cati oameni au vazut episodul musical din BTVS, si din pacate nu l-am gasit nicaieri online pentru ca videoclipurile Buffy sunt prima victima a clauzei tampite cu copyright infringement. Cu toate acestea merita sa fie in top 3, chiar daca nu am videoclipul to prove it.

2. Breathe me – Six Feet Under

Six Feet Under a avut unul dintre cele mai bune finaluri de seriale de care eu imi aduc aminte din ultimii ani. Everything came together si cantecul lui Sia, Breathe me, se potriveste perfect nu numai intregului serial, dar si lui Claire in sine ca personaj.

1. ER – Somewhere over the rainbow

M-am luptat cu a pune Somewhere over the rainbow sau Breathe me pe primul loc. Pana la urma insa a trebuit sa aleg curcubeul, chiar daca in celalalt caz este vorba de o finala de serial. Totusi… Scena aceasta este atat de trista, iar melodia are un asa efect, incat sincer cred ca multi ani de acum incolo va ramane cu mine, poate mai mult ca orice alt moment muzical.
