Programul saptamanal

Nu sunt eu fana Supernatural. Motivele pentru aceasta stare de lucruri sunt variate si nu o sa intru in ele aici (*cough*Buffywasbetter*cough*), dar daca nu am vreun mare respect pentru Supernatural, in schimb admir acei oameni cu integritate. Eric Kripke mi se pare un asemenea om si pot sa il respect pentru asta, chiar daca este un porc misogin care si-a facut averea pe spinarea victimelor de sex feminin care au parte de un sfarsit sangeros si trist. Hm, nu am sunat ca o feminista bitter nu?

Prima reactie cand am auzit ca Supernatural o sa fie prelungit cu inca un sezon a fost: Hmpf, dar parca Eric Kripke ala voia sa spuna o poveste in cinci sezoane! Daca este ceva care am apreciat intotdeauna la Supernatural si pot sa marturisesc ca poate este unul din (foarte) putinele capitole unde sta mai bine decat Buffy este structura povestii. Sezoanele sunt legate intre ele, povestea fratilor Winchester are o evolutie clara si duce “undeva”. Chiar daca in drumul spre acel undeva facem niste opriri pretty fucked up si all around depressing. Faptul ca s-ar prelungi povestea cu inca un sezon m-a facut sa ma gandesc ca baiatul nostru Kripke e interesat de dolarul rapid si nu atat de spunerea unei povesti coerente. Si cine sunt eu sa judec, doar vila din Monaco nu se plateste singura!

Insa astazi am citit ca de fapt Kripke se va retrage din pozitia de showrunner in acest sezon al saselea al serialului. Tot va fi implicat in productie, dar in esenta nu va mai spune povestea lui. Lasa responsabilitatea conturarii acestui univers altcuiva, unei echipe de producatori in cel mai probabil caz. Wow, uite asta pot sa aplaud. E o dovada de integritate artistica daca vrei. Nu stiu unde ar putea sa mearga fratii Winchester dupa ce salveaza lumea de Lucifer.

Poate or sa se bata cu Quetzalcoatl. Poate ajung in Egipt sa se bata cu Goa’Uldzii. I don’t care, dar imi place ideea ca Eric Kripke a ajuns sa spuna povestea pe care a dorit-o si se multumeste sa imprumute aceste personaje altcuiva pentru a spune povesti diferite. Sigur nu vor fi mai bune, la inceput, dar Supernatural a prins o viata proprie. It’s bigger than Kripke si ma bucur ca a avut decenta sa realizeze acest lucru si sa nu continue in pozitia de showrunner. Este refreshing sa vezi pe cineva care nu-si lasa ego-ul sa-i dicteze cariera, desi ar fi foarte usor pentru Kripke sa continue cum a facut-o pana acum, pentru ca doar are sustinerea fanilor. Per total, mi se pare o miscare foarte classy.

Dar sper ca un fan Supernatural care sa fie tru sa-mi spuna si perspectiva sa asupra situatiei. Anybody?

So talking about Flash Forward ending I compared it to a nasty break up if it would ever get canceled. I liked the idea of thinking about my relationships with my favourite shows (or least favourite) in terms of relationships with actual boyfriends so I went with it. And if you think I’m the only girl in the world who loves a TV show more than her current or ex boyfriend… think again Right girls? Right!?
